I advise organizations designing AI and data systems where decisions have long-term, irreversible consequences.
My work is most useful in contexts where technical architecture, governance, and strategy are tightly coupled. This includes AI deployment, data infrastructure, platform systems, and large-scale digital transformation efforts where early design choices shape downstream power, risk, and flexibility.
Types of engagements
AI strategy and system architecture
Governance by design for AI and data systems
Requirements and decision modeling under uncertainty
Platform and marketplace design
Risk, accountability, and auditability embedded into systems
Translating policy or regulatory constraints into technical design
How I work
I do not treat governance as documentation, compliance, or post-hoc review. I work directly with teams to embed governance into system logic, workflows, defaults, and escalation paths so that systems behave responsibly by design.
This often involves close collaboration across technical, legal, operational, and leadership roles. The goal is not to slow innovation but to ensure that systems remain adaptable, accountable, and legitimate as they scale.
What differentiates my approach
End-to-end system thinking from strategy to deployment
Deep familiarity with both technical implementation and institutional constraints
Emphasis on irreversibility, compounding effects, and long-term outcomes
Governance treated as a design problem, not an afterthought
Selected Past Projects
The following examples illustrate the kinds of systems and institutional problems I work on. They are representative rather than exhaustive.
AI Mental Health Systems (Healthcare)
Designed trauma-informed AI systems for adolescent mental health settings. The work focused on embedding governance into model training, data use, and interaction design so that cultural context, clinical standards, and long-term accountability were enforced by system architecture rather than policy alone.
Enterprise AI Tutoring Platform (Higher Education)
Led the design of an adaptive AI tutoring system providing continuous academic support. The system incorporated governance mechanisms for data use, model feedback, and escalation paths to ensure pedagogical integrity as the system learned and scaled.
Peer-to-Peer Marketplace Platform (University Innovation Hub)
Designed a multi-stakeholder marketplace platform from concept through system architecture. Established governance frameworks for peer transactions, dispute resolution, and platform accountability alongside technical design.
Supply Chain Transparency System (Global Trade)
Architected end-to-end systems for tracking products from source to market. The platform captured decision provenance and verification data to support sustainability, compliance, and auditability across organizational boundaries.
Behavioral Insights and Intervention Platform
Designed systems combining large language models and behavioral data to analyze decision patterns across populations. Governance mechanisms constrained use cases, escalation thresholds, and intervention strategies to prevent misuse while enabling insight generation.
Large-Scale Institutional Systems
Earlier work includes secure assessment platforms, payment and identity systems, statewide examination infrastructure, enterprise workforce systems, and cryptographic payment security research, all focused on building systems that remain accountable and resilient as they scale.
